Prōject recently had the pleasure of presenting and hosting an OBIEE and BI Applications Questions and Answers workshop at the UKOUG Financials Special Interest Group (SIG), held at the CBI Conference Centre in London on the 12th September 2012. As deputy chair, Ian Boyling was delighted to welcome Prōject’s BI director, Andrew Coates to join him at the event which was well attended by the Financials user community. With a wide spectrum of attendees from various companies and industries, Andrew was able to offer an insight into the ever developing world of Oracle Business Intelligence. Andrew leads Prōject’s growing BI practice where Prōject is the only Oracle Gold partner in EMEA to have achieved the BI Applications specialism, and is one of only eight partners in the UK (up to and including Diamond level) to have achieved both the BI Foundation and BI Applications specialisms. With his rich degree of knowledge and numerous BI implementations to his name, Andrew gave the audience an overview of the BI technology and applications on offer from Oracle as well as unravel the true definition of BI and its true value proposition.
Following the presentation, Andrew was on hand to field questions during a breakout workshop during the afternoon of the event. Ian Boyling hosted this session and together with Ian’s Oracle Financials subject matter expertise, Prōject was able to offer a valuable insight into experiences of working with the BI Applications. The workshop gave the audience an open and non prescript opportunity to tap into answers that would help with their own development or BI strategy. A broad range of topics were covered from best practice implementation techniques to deployment strategies.
Positive feedback was received to the extent that future sessions with Andrew are being planned. Prōject would be delighted to extend this further and invite any interested parties to register their interest in hearing more about OBIEE and BI Applications through our website.
