Utilising the recently released Oracle Project Portfolio Management Integration Pack for Primavera P6 and the Oracle E-Business Suite, Prōject (formerly Projected Consulting) has successfully implemented the integration of Oracle’s Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management with Oracle Projects in its Centre of Excellence.
The Integration Pack leverages Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture (AIA) Release 2.5, which itself is built on Oracle’s Fusion Middleware products, SOA and BPM Suite. These products deliver a comprehensive SOA and BPM infrastructure for connecting heterogeneous applications and business partners, managing structured and unstructured business processes and advanced management via a unified framework for governance and monitoring.
The integration allows users to create or update projects in Primavera P6 or Oracle Projects and synchronise project structures, activities, resource details and assignments, budgets, actual costs, progress and cost to complete. The integration provides one cohesive look into all projects and portfolios within an enterprise.
The key benefits of the integration include speedy deployment, better visibility to aid in decision making and greater accuracy of corporate data across enterprise systems. It helps reduce the risks associated with a customised integration project and helps avoid the complications associated with supporting a custom build.
